| Tape to DVD Your delicate camcorder tapes (and home movie film) can now be preserved on DVD, at reasonable cost! Videotapes can become unplayable through no fault of their owner. Even under the best conditions, videotape is only expected to last about 15 years. A DVD is not indestructible, but playing it hundreds or thousands of times does not harm it. The quality is far better than that of a VHS tape. DVD is considered a "keeper" medium.

DVD -R and DVD +R mean Digital Video/Versatile Disk, Recordable. Most modern and future DVD players will accept these, just like the mass produced stamped-out DVDs. Some older players may balk at playing one or the other of them. If you are not sure, we can loan you a sample DVD-R disk and DVD +R disk for you to try. If it will play one of the samples, we will know which format to use. |
